It started as a humble home bible study in our home in 2009. The study continued to grow over the next couple years, and in October 2011, Grace Point officially launched as a daughter work church from Life Tabernacle UPC of Fort Worth, Texas. We rented a room from the Roanoke Recreation Center and started having Sunday Worship Services, with all that using a rented facility entailed! We hauled and set-up sound and media equipment, set-up and tore down chairs, and hosted a meal each service that first year in the Rec Center. However, since the Rec Center was closed on holidays, we had to host holiday services in our home still. But this didn’t stop us from ever having church! Our Easter service in our home in 2013 saw thirty-three members come for worship, an egg hunt, and a fellowship meal.

Each year or so, we continued to outgrow locations. This meant we had to move to another facility to host services and mid-week bible study. With most of our locations, we were still setting up and tearing down each service. Then in July 2014, we were blessed to receive North American Missions status as a church plant. This opened new doors to us with rent assistance and Sheaves For Christ and Christmas For Christ grants. We were even able to purchase 1.5 acres of land in Haslet, Texas in December 2017.

The cost of construction in the area was sky-rocketing, and the idea of a building project seemed overwhelming. However, we had heard a representative from the UPCI Loan Fund speak at several meetings, and we were intrigued by the program. We are so glad we checked it out, because the loan process turned out to be very smooth and professional. Each representative we encountered was gracious and easy to work with. Once we closed on our UPCI Loan Fund financing, Grace Point Church was able to construct a Church-In-A-Day building with the North Texas District on October 21, 2018.

The congregation is experiencing revival, and we have had four souls receive the Holy Ghost and three get baptized in February 2019 alone! We have also added four new families to the congregation since January 2019. Plus, we are pleased to say that our first home bible study attendee from back in 2009 is still working within Grace Point Church today. One seed can grow so much when placed in the Master’s capable hands.

Grace Point Church wants to thank everyone at the UPCI Loan Fund for their commitment to grow the Kingdom. And we thank God for the UPCI Loan Fund investors and team, as they assisted us in obtaining our dream church building
